The story behind the show

My rock bottom moment was dramatic. It involved an unpaid debt, which led to me getting kidnapped and beaten up. This was circulated all over social media. It went viral.

I felt humiliated. Ashamed. Worthless. How did someone with so much potential fall so far? I admitted I had a problem, finally. I went to Bruce's Farm, the rehab facility in Gibraltar. I spent twelve weeks there. Twelve weeks of serenity, therapy and rediscovering myself. I had a profound personality change. I wanted to spread the joy I had discovered. When GBC, the national broadcaster wanted to do an interview with recovering addicts at Bruce's Farm, I signed up. I was nervous, but I wanted to get my own back. I wanted to show people recover, even from the worst setbacks. The clip on TV went viral. When I left rehab in May 2026, I started After the High because I couldn't find the content I needed. Everything was either clinical and cold, or relentlessly cheerful in a way that felt fake. I wanted honest. I wanted someone to say: yes, sobriety is sometimes boring. Yes, you'll grieve the version of yourself that used. Yes, it gets better. But not always in a straight line.

Six months sober now. The podcast and its community has grown into something I'm genuinely proud of. We are building something real. If that sounds like something for you, you're in the right place.

What drives this

What I believe

Honesty over fake inspiration

Recovery content that glosses over the hard parts does more harm than good. I'd rather be useful than uplifting.

Community over isolation

Sobriety is hard to do alone. The more we talk openly about it, the easier it gets for everyone.

Identity, not just behaviour

Quitting drinking or using is the easy part. Figuring out who you are without it? That's the real work.

Progress over perfection

Relapse is not failure. Shame is not a recovery tool. We move forward, not backward.
